Liu Cixin’s hard science fiction epic is much more than alien threats with more emphasis on the cultural revolutions and human problems.

Netflix’s 3 Body Problem series starts with the opening scene of the Cultural Revolution in China where Ye Wenjie (Zine Tseng). The opening scene of the first episode of the series shows a student of astrophysics sees in front of her eyes her academician father being beaten mercilessly to death.

The scene shifts to London in 2024 where a detective, Da Shi (Benedict Wong), tries to figure out the reason behind the death of a physicist, who was supposed to win the Nobel Prize.

The thriller has got a lot to do with human life with string of suicides happening among elite scientists based out of London. The story also talks about mental health issues. Netflix’s series shows us what quantum mechanics might look like in real time. The series from screenwriter Alexander Woo and Game of Thrones shepherds David Benioff and D.B. Weiss adapts a bestselling sci-fi trilogy by Chinese writer Liu Cixin, an engineer with a high-level understanding of physics into Netflix’s 
3 Body Problem

All the audiences are not physicists, so adapting the entire book the way it is would have been difficult for the viewers to grasp. It has a bunch of new characters and this makes it easy for people to understand the different layers which are much more than physics like family life, friendship, history, cultural revolution, politics among scientists and lots more.

3 Body Problem is basically about understanding gravity and how it works**.** The makers have understood that there is a lot more that happened between physics and that is what is going to connect with the viewers and make the show a hit.
